Cookie & Browser Storage Notice

Last updated: 24 September 2026

In short

SafePort uses limited browser storage to keep a team connected to its simulation and to retain facilitator access during the current browser session. The hosting platform also measures aggregate site usage. SafePort does not use information for advertising.

What browser storage is

Cookies are small text files placed on a device by a website. Similar technologies, including local storage and session storage, allow a website to remember information in a browser between screens or visits.

Storage SafePort uses

  • Team resume details: the session code, team identifier and team name are kept in local storage so the same browser can reconnect after a refresh or temporary loss of connection.
  • Facilitator access: the facilitator PIN is kept in session storage for the current browser tab and is cleared when that tab’s browser session ends.
  • Solo demo: demo choices remain in page memory only and are cleared when the page is reloaded or closed.

Analytics

SafePort’s hosting platform may measure aggregate usage, including page views, visit duration, device category and general country-level location. This helps us understand whether the simulation is working well. We do not use this information to build advertising profiles.

Managing stored information

You can remove SafePort’s local browser data by clearing site data in your browser. Doing so may disconnect that browser from its current team. A facilitator can reset or delete a multiplayer session and its associated gameplay data from the session manager.

Changes and further information

We may update this notice when SafePort’s storage or measurement practices change. The revised date will appear above. For more information about multiplayer data and your choices, read the Privacy & Legal notice.
